The ESP LTD M-403HT is packed full of premium quality appointments, making it stand head and shoulders above similar guitars in the same price range. Fearing a HSS Seymour Duncan pickup configuration, flamed maple top (with natural satin finish), Grover locking tuners, body, neck and headstock binding, and an Extra Thin U shaped neck that's perfect for even the fastest of players. This guitar means business.
The Pickups
As a break from the norm (at least where ESP guitars are concerned) the M-403HT comes equipped with a HSS configuration of Seymour Duncan pickups.
The two single coils are Neck and Middle positioned STK-S4's, from their noiseless "Stratocaster" pickup range. The neck pickup has been hand-tuned for that familiar warm, bell-like Strat tone, but without any of the associated 60-cycle hum, whereas the middle pickup has all of the sparkle and chime that's to be expected from a Strat pickup, but (as with the Neck PU) none of that traditional hum.
The high-powered Custom 5 bridge humbucker pickup is a bright, Alnico 5 version of the popular Custom Custom Humbucker, and comes complete with a nice, full tone, scooped midrange and balanced bass & treble. These features make this pickup along as versatile as can be, making it suitable for any musical and playing style.
The HSS combination of pickups gives you a vast array of tones to experiment with when searching for that sweet spot, and help make the guitar perfect for whatever your playstyle or tonal needs.
The Finish
The M-403HT comes complete with a flamed maple top over a mahogany body, and has a natural satin finish. Rather than paint or staining, the sating finish helps to give the guitar a more natural look, whilst the unique woodgrain of the Flamed Maple top helps to serve a simply striking finish.
Fixed Bridge & Grover Tuners
The combination of Grover Locking Tuners and a fixed bridge on a guitar lets you know that the instrument means business. This combination helps to keep the tuning and intonation integrity of the guitar's strings, meaning that you can play the guitar as often and as aggressively as you wish without having to stop and re-tune every song!
